Winners to be announced in June 2025
The CAA is delighted to have been nominated, as one of three, to receive the The King’s Foundation 2025 International Impact Award.
The nomination recognises the CAA’s longstanding commitment to advancing education, capacity building, and professional development. Through initiatives such as its ongoing programme of Continuing Professional Development, Knowledge Sharing Partnership and advocacy , the CAA works to support policymakers, practitioners, teaching faculty and students , especially in those member countries facing the most acute challenges related to rapid urbanisation, climate change, and resilience.
The CAA would like to extend its congratulations to the other nominees for the International Award; the Fashion Council Germany and the Akoje Residency. The CAA would also like to congratulate Professor Yasmeen Lari, recipient of the 2024 CAA Lifetime Achievement Award, who has been nominated for The King’s Foundation 2025 Innovation in Practice Award.
As an association representing professional architectural bodies from across the Commonwealth, the CAA’s mission is to maximise the contribution by architects to the well-being of society.
This nomination reflects a shared belief in the transformative power of knowledge and the critical importance of investing in people. By fostering education, knowledge sharing and capacity development, the CAA continues its work to help shape a more sustainable, resilient and equitable built environment for future generations.
In addition to its work in the field of education, the CAA was also a founding partner of the Commonwealth Sustainable Cities Initiative (CSCI). Working with partners including the Association of Commonwealth Universities, the Commonwealth Association of Planners, the Commonwealth Engineers Council and the Commonwealth Local Government Forum, the CSCI was recognised when Member States adopted the Commonwealth Declaration on Sustainable Urbanisation at the 2022 Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting which took place in Kigali, Rwanda.
The winners will be announced at an award ceremony taking place at St James’s Palace in London in June 2025.
