CAA leadership contributes to a panel session on 'Leading by Design'
At the Australian Institute of Architects National Conference in Sydney, May 2025, the Commonwealth Association of Architects (CAA) leadership featured prominently in a key session, ‘Leading by Design: The Future of Our Profession .’
CAA President Steven Oundo and CAA Senior Vice President John Brown joined Huia Reriti, President of the New Zealand Institute of Architects (NZIA), for a panel discussion focused on the importance of leadership in shaping the architectural profession amid an era of rapid change. The discussion, hosted by Jane Cassidy President Australian Institute of Architects, also featured Melvin Tan, President of the Singapore Institute of Architects, and Alison Scotland.
“As architects, we play a critical role in shaping resilient communities, and this gathering demonstrates the power of sharing knowledge in advancing our collective goals towards a more sustainable Commonwealth,” said Steven Oundo.
CAA Pacific Vice President, Vince Pirrello and Hugo Chan, CAA Youth Representative both from Sydney and the Australian Institute of Architects, hosted a dinner with guests from the NZIA, NZ Architects Board, NZIA Gold Medalists, SONA Student and NZIA Students and Leaders from Australian Institute of Architects.
