Nomination recognises CAA's contribution to advancing architecture
The CAA is delighted to have been nominated as one of three organisations to receive the 2025 King’s Foundation International Impact Award. It’s nomination statement reads:
“(The) Commonwealth Association of Architects comprises national architectural associations from all five Commonwealth regions. Through it’s extensive network, CAA has been supporting professionals working in the built environment to respond to enormous challenges. With only a modest organisational budget, the vast majority of the CAA’s impact is also achieved through mobilising volunteer effort and input from across the Commonwealth; strengthening people-to-people bonds, understanding, and shared goals in the process. (The) CAA was a founder member of the Commonwealth Sustainable Cities Initiative which successfully ensured issues on sustainable development were recognised as a priority for the Commonwealth in the Declaration on Sustainable Urbanisation adopted by member states at CHOGM in 2022.”
Award Ceremony
The ceremony for the 2025 King’s Foundation Awards took place at St James’s Palace in London on Thursday 12 June 2025 and was attended by HM The King. The CAA extends its congratulations to all the winners including The Akoje Residency, which won the International Impact Award.
The CAA is also delighted to report that the Innovation in Practice Award was won by Yasmeen Lari, last years winner of the CAA Lifetime Achievement Award.
