FCDO Infrastructure Professional Development Toolkit
The Infrastructure Professional Development Toolkit has been developed to support learning and capability development for those working across infrastructure and urban development. Developed through the UK Foreign, Development & Commonwealth Office’s (FCDO) Green Cities, Infrastructure and Energy Programme, the toolkit brings together practical learning modules designed to strengthen understanding of sustainable, inclusive, and climate-resilient infrastructure approaches.
Structured around five themes, the toolkit explores the role of infrastructure in supporting economic development, growth, cities and regions; how infrastructure is planned, financed and developed; key environmental, social and governance safeguards; climate, nature and low-carbon priorities; and the specific challenges of working in humanitarian, fragile, conflict-affected and security contexts. It is intended as a practical learning resource for policymakers, practitioners and organisations seeking to strengthen knowledge and professional capability in sustainable infrastructure delivery.
